What Helps to Have in Front of You
None of this is required. Call without any of it if you need to. It just makes the first conversation faster and more useful.
Your Paperwork
The citation, arrest ticket, bond paperwork or summons. The charge and the code section on it tell Austin most of what he needs.
Your Court Date
The date, the courtroom and the county. If you are not sure, say so and Austin will find it.
Your Record
Any prior charges, convictions, diversions or expungements, even old ones from other states. They affect the options more than people expect.
If It Is Happening Right Now
Being questioned by police? You can say you want a lawyer and stop answering. That is not an admission of anything, and once you say it clearly the questioning is supposed to stop.
Asked to give a statement or hand over a phone? You can decline. Call before you agree to anything, not after.
Court date tomorrow and no lawyer? Call now. Showing up unrepresented is a decision with consequences, and there is often more that can be done on short notice than people assume.

Will I actually talk to Austin?
Yes. This is a small firm by design. You are not routed through a call center or handed off to someone you never spoke to before your court date.
Is what I tell you confidential if I do not hire you?
Conversations with a lawyer about possibly hiring them are generally protected even if you do not go forward. A message typed into a website form is a different thing, which is why this page asks you to keep the form short and save the details for the call.
What does a defense cost?
It depends on the charge, the court and how far the case is likely to go. You will get a clear number before you commit to anything, not a surprise later. Ask about it on the first call, because it is a fair question and it gets a direct answer.
Do you handle cases outside Davidson County?
Yes. Patriot Law appears across Middle Tennessee, including Williamson, Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson, Cheatham and Smith counties. If your case is somewhere else in the state, call anyway and Austin will tell you honestly whether he is the right fit.
I already have a lawyer. Can I still call?
You can. People call for a second opinion all the time and there is nothing improper about it. You are entitled to understand your own case, and to change counsel if you decide that is the right move.
